YOUROAST.IT

Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of youroast.it and every adoption you place with YouRoast. It, a family coffee finca in Huila, Colombia (“we”, “us”, “our”). By placing an adoption you accept them. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you hold under mandatory consumer law.

1. What an adoption is

A YouRoast. It adoption is a sponsorship of coffee trees growing on our finca, billed by the quarter. For the duration of your adoption you receive the coffee stated for your tier, roasted to order and packed under the name you choose, delivered in the shipments stated for your tier, together with a personalized adoption certificate, care reports from your rows, and access to your roast dashboard. The trees themselves remain part of the farm: we own them, care for them, and harvest them on your behalf. An adoption transfers no ownership of land, trees, or crops.

2. Tiers, prices and payment

The tiers, their coffee volumes, and their prices are shown on the site at the time of purchase. Prices are in US dollars and, where required, include applicable taxes. Payment is taken once per quarter, in advance, through our payment processor Stripe (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link, or PayPal). Your adoption begins when payment is confirmed.

3. Renewal and cancellation

Adoptions run one quarter at a time and do not roll over silently. Before a new quarter begins we remind you by email. If you paid with a method that supports secure renewals and it was saved for that purpose, we renew your adoption with that method after the reminder; otherwise renewal happens only when you confirm it. You can cancel at any time by emailing hello@youcoffee.co or through your roast dashboard: your current quarter runs to its end with all remaining shipments, and nothing further is charged.

4. Personalization

The name you enter (up to 14 characters) is printed on your bags and certificate exactly as typed. Please check the spelling; personalized bags that were printed as ordered cannot be reprinted free of charge. You confirm that you are entitled to use the name you provide, and we may decline text that is offensive or infringes someone’s rights, refunding the adoption if we do.

5. Shipping

Your first box leaves the roastery within 14 days of your adoption; the following shipments follow your tier’s stated rhythm, quarterly for the personal tiers and monthly for The Office Roast. Each batch is roasted to order shortly before it ships, and the roast date is stamped on every bag. You are responsible for providing an accurate delivery address and for any customs duties or import charges your country levies. If a parcel comes back to us because the address was wrong or the delivery went unclaimed, we contact you and reship; a second shipping fee may apply.

6. A natural product

Coffee is an agricultural product. Cup character varies from harvest to harvest, and tasting notes describe the harvest, not a guarantee per bag. Should an exceptional season (frost, drought, disease or another event outside our control) leave your rows short of your tier’s stated volume, we make up the difference from the finca’s reserve of the same harvest or, where that is impossible, extend your adoption or refund the undelivered share, at your choice.

7. Returns and refunds

If a shipment arrives damaged, opened, or faulty, write to us within 14 days of delivery with a photo and we replace it or refund it, whichever you prefer. Where a statutory right of withdrawal applies, it does not extend to goods personalized to your order (your named bags) or to sealed food products once unsealed. Aside from those exceptions we handle things simply: if you cancel before your quarter’s first shipment has been prepared, we refund the quarter in full; afterwards we refund the undelivered shipments, keeping only what has already shipped. Refunds go back to the original payment method.

8. The roast dashboard

Your dashboard access is personal to your adoption. You agree not to misuse the site — no attempts to breach its security, scrape it, or use it unlawfully. We may suspend access that endangers the service, and we restore it once the issue is resolved.

9. Our content

The YouRoast. It name, logo, label designs, photography and site content belong to us or our licensors. You may not reproduce them commercially without our written permission. The certificate is yours to print, frame and gift.

10. Liability

We are liable for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under mandatory product liability law. For ordinary negligence we are liable only for the breach of essential contractual duties and up to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract — in practice, the price of your adoption quarter. Nothing in this section limits rights that consumer law grants you and that cannot be waived.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms for future quarters; the version in force when you adopt (or a quarter renews) is the one that applies to that quarter. The current version always lives on this page with its effective date.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Colombia. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may sue or be sued in that country’s courts. We will always try to settle any concern directly first — write to us and we will make it right.
